What about horses, steel, and other things mentioned in the Book of Mormon?
The Short Answer
When Joseph translated, he used the closest English words he had — so 'horse' or 'steel' might not mean exactly what we picture today. The Church's essays explain this. Archaeology in the Americas keeps turning up new finds, so the picture is still being filled in.
